To better equip us in identifying men in our congregation to serve as elders, the Elders have invited Russ LaGrone, an elder from the church in Embry Hills, Georgia to present a short series of lessons about the work of Elders as shepherds of the flock. These lessons will enhance the biblical list of qualifications by teaching more about the shepherding and overseeing characteristics of an elder.
The first two lessons will be presented on Saturday, January 28th at 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and the remaining two lessons will be on Sunday, January 29th at 9:00 a.m. (during our Bible Class time) and at 10:00 a.m.
The lessons will include:
Ø The Role of Elders,
Ø Elder as the Shepherd of the Flock,
Ø the Church's Role in Developing Elders, and
Ø the Elders as the Shepherd of the Sheep
January 28th –Saturday @ 6 P.M. Russ will present two lessons, back to back with a short break in the middle. After the 2nd lesson Russ will remain for a Q & A session about his lessons and general questions for him about eldering. We are working to arrange child care for families with young children during the Saturday evening lessons.
January 29th –Sunday, Russ will be teaching the 3rd lesson during our normal class time and then will be preaching for us as well to present the 4th of the lesson series.
